The Gus Johnson Community Center is an ideal venue to host functions ranging from corporate events to graduation parties, wedding receptions and community meetings. Located in the heart of West   Akron off of I-77, the center is conveniently on one of the city’s main Metro bus lines.  A functioning elevator services all floors providing Wheelchair Accessibility.

A proud member of the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, the Gus Johnson Community Center is situated in the heart of West Akron and designed to benefit the entire community at large.  Named to commemorate former NBA great Gus Johnson who, was a product of this community and educational system, Johnson was also a member of our ad joining church, United Baptist Church Ministries.  Johnson was committed to helping inner-city youth and as such, the center’s sole purpose is to foster a viable basis for instruction and patronage from the toddler to the aged providing services ranging from tutoring to health and wellness.
